AGENT SASCO (Jamajka)

Jeden z najbardziej gorących jamajskich artystów, wcześniej znany jako Assassin i szanowany w świecie za swój oryginalny styl na styku reggae i dancehall, przywozi do Polski swój nowy album “Hope River”.

W 2000 roku Spragga Benz nagrał piosenkę, w której Sasco po raz pierwszy pojawił się ze swoją zwrotką. To był początek długiej listy kolaboracji, która rozrosła się do czterech albumów oraz ponad 350 singli. Współpracował ze zdobywającymi Grammy mega gwiazdami hip-hop jak Kanye West (“I’m In It”) czy Kendrick Lamar (“The Blacker The Berry”), jak i z legendami dancehall i reggae, m.in. Shaggy’m, Bounty Killer, Buju Bantonem, Josie Wales, Richie Stephensem, Freddie McGregorem, Marcią Griffiths czy Beresem Hammondem. Sasco wciąż się rozwija, by jego muzyka zawsze brzmiała świeżo. Jest również producentem i współzałożycielem Boardhouse Records. Po podpisaniu w 2004 roku umowy z VP Records wydał dla tej wytwórni dwa albumy – debiutancki “Infiltration” (2005) oraz celebrację życia w getcie, “Gully Sit'in” (2007). Obydwa zostały wysoko ocenione przez fanów i miały ogromny wpływ na jego światową rozpoznawalność. Trzeci krążek “Theory of Reggaetivity” (Germaica Digital 2016) zawierał 100% reggae, a wsród gości możecie usłyszeć na nim m.in. Chronixxa.
Agent Sasco występował na głównych festiwalach na całym świecie, od Europy poprzez Amerykę Środkową do Ameryki Północnej, Afryki, Karaibów czy Dalekiego Wschodu. Ostatnio można go było zobaczyć wśród gości Buju Bantona na słynnym koncercie “Long Walk to Freedom” na Stadionie Narodowym w Kingston.
Ubiegły rok przyniósł jego najnowsze wydawnictwo “Hope River” z całą masą wyjątkowych gości. Są tam m.in. Stephen Marley, Dre Island, Stonebwoy, Kabaka Pyramid, Spragga Benz, Tony Rebel, Bay-C, Queen Ifrica, Tessanne Chin czy Romain Virgo. Można tam również usłyszeć fragment wywiadu udzielonego przez Buju Bantona w 2004 roku, gdzie mówi: “Osobiście czuję, że młody artysta nazywający się Assassin ma przed sobą wielką przyszłość.”
Muzyka jest tu bardzo zróżnicowana, od reggae, hip-hop i dancehall, skończywszy na gospel.
Reggaeville.com napisał o tej płycie: “Jest pełna przekazu mówiącego o nadziei, motywacji, pracowitości i wytrwałości. Ukazuje prywatną stronę Sasco, o której wcześniej nie słyszeliśmy.”

One of the hottest Jamaican artists, formerly known as Assassin and globally respected for his unique blend of reggae & dancehall, brings his new album “Hope River” to Poland.

In 2000 Spragga Benz recorded a song where Sasco received his first big break. This was the beginning of a long list of collaborations for Sasco that branched into four studio albums and over 350 singles. Collaborating with Grammy Award-winning artists Kanye West (“I’m In It”) and Kendrick Lamar (“The Blacker The Berry”), as well as dancehall and reggae legends like Shaggy, Bounty Killer, Buju Banton, Josie Wales, Richie Stephens, Freddie McGregor, Marcia Griffiths and Beres Hammond, to name a few, Sasco is always evolving to keep his sound fresh.
He is also a producer and co-founder of Boardhouse Records.
Signed to VP Records in 2004, the deejay released two albums for the label – his debut album “Infiltration” (2005) and a celebration on ghetto life, “Gully Sit'in” (2007). Both were acclaimed by fans and escalated his notability worldwide. His third album “Theory of Reggaetivity” (Germaica Digital 2016) was an all-reggae album with guests like Chronixx.
He performed major festivals all over the globe from Europe to Central America, North America to Africa, all over the Caribbean and also in the Far East. Recently he performed at Buju Banton’s famous stadium show “Long Walk to Freedom” in Kingston.
2018 saw Agent Sasco’s latest effort “Hope River”, featuring long list of collaborations, including Stephen Marley, Dre Island, Stonebwoy, Kabaka Pyramid, Spragga Benz, Tony Rebel, Bay-C, Queen Ifrica, Tessanne Chin, Romain Virgo among the others.
You can also hear there Buju Banton’s excerpt from a 2004 interview saying: “I personally feel like the likkle artist name Assassin has a great future ahead of him!”
The music is diverse, from gospel to reggae, hip-hop and dancehall.
