Wymiatacze z Brisbane tworzą ciężkie reggae i dub, powoli urastając do statusu czołowego australijskiego zespołu tego gatunku. Ta sześcioosobowa ekipa w miłość do jamajskich rytmów wplata osobistą głębię i buduje własny styl. Coś dla fanów charakterystycznej szkoły muzycznej Antypodów, szanowanej na całym świecie za zespoły pokroju Fat Freddy’s Drop.
Już od 2009 roku ci wojownicy roots reggae z regionu Queensland budują sobie solidne poparcie dostarczając fanom muzykę na światowym poziomie. Ich brzmienie akcentuje ciężkie i głębokie rytmy, jednocześnie robiąc wrażenie wyjątkową delikatnością i perfekcyjnymi soulowymi wokalami. Po niesamowicie przyjętym debiutanckim albumie zatytułowanym tak jak nazwa grupy i promowanym singlem “Piece of the Puzzle”, Kingfisha otrzymali propozycje tras, które zawiodły ich w takie miejsca jak kraje południowej Afryki. Osiągnęli sukces w lokalnych stacjach radiowych na terenie całej Australii, zdobyli prestiżową nagrodę Queensland Music Award i zagrali trzy krajowe trasy. Zostali bardzo dobrze przyjęci na trasie koncertowej w Nowej Zelandii. Na festiwalowych występach czują się jak ryba w wodzie i szybko pojawili się w lineupach czołowych imprez na Antypodach, jak Woodford Folk Festival, Mullum Music Festival, Womadelaide, The Big Chill Festival i innych. W 2015 Kingfisha we współpracy z kanadyjską wytwórnią EDM Westwood Recordings wywrócili do góry nogami swoje poświęcenie korzennym wibracjom i zaskoczyli EP z remixami “Kingfisha Remixed”. Pojawili się tam producenci z Wlk. Brytanii, Holandii, Kanady i Australii. Epka utrzymywała się przez kilka tygodni na pozycji nr 1 list dub/reggae.
Ostatnio Kingfisha wydali swój drugi studyjny album “Offered It Up” i w lecie grają po raz pierwszy europejską trasę, z występami m.in. na Reggae Sun Ska Festival, Rototom Sunsplash, Boomtown oraz w Ostródzie.

Brisbane roof raisers Kingfisha have been laying down weighty reggae and dub, cementing themselves as Australia’s premier modern act of the genre. The six-piece band couple their love of Jamaican rhythms with personal depth and style. For the fans of the Antipodes’ music school, respected worldwide for Fat Freddy’s Drop and the others.
Since 2009 internationally renowned Queensland roots-reggae aficionados have built a rock-solid following delivering world-class music. Kingfisha sound highlights heavy and deep all-encompassing rhythms with the feather-light touch and perfect soul vocals. After incredibly well received self-titled debut album with the single ‘Piece of the Puzzle,’ Kingfisha enjoyed touring opportunities that have taken them to places like Southern Africa. Charting nationally across community radio, they won Queensland Music Award and played three stellar tours. Kingfisha were well received on their first New Zealand tour. Festival appearances became Kingfisha’s natural habitat and they were added to an illustrious list including Woodford Folk Festival, Mullum Music Festival, Womadelaide, The Big Chill Festival and many others.
In 2015, Kingfisha, in collaboration with Canadian EDM label Westwood Recordings, flipped their dedicated roots vibe on its head by releasing the surprise “Kingfisha Remixed” EP. It featured a varied roster of producers from the UK, Holland, Canada and Australia. The EP held the #1 spot on the dub/reggae charts for several weeks.
Kingfisha have just released their second studio album “Offered It Up” and touring Europe for the first time, including Reggae Sun Ska Festival, Rototom Sunsplash, Boomtown and Ostróda.
